Four Wheel Driving

A Complete Four Wheel Drive Hire vehicle is also based here in Copley at Cookes Outback Motors. Head off the highway and get in amongst the real South Australian Outback.

Spend the day visiting the Gammon Ranges, Arkaroola, Nepabunna and outback station country.

Leave your van at the park and pack a toothbrush and a pair of undies and have an overnighter at Arkaroola do the Ridgetop Tour and the Observatory Tour. Or if you like walking the Acacia Ridge Trail is amazing.

Leigh Creek
The old coal mine town has a supermarket which is open from Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm and Sat 9am to 12:30pm. Closed Sunday and Public Holidays.

The streets of Leigh Creek are in alphabetical order and the trees that line the streets are the names eg; Acacia Drive.

Aroona Dam
Home of yellow footed rock wallabies, Spectacular walking trail, BBQ areas and fishing is allowed but no camping.

Mountain of Light
Old copper mine workings, & the remains of smelter.

Talc Alf
Philosopher of the desert.

Visit Marree see the first mosque in Australia and catch up on the history of Tom Kruse the mailman at the Pub or take a flight over Lake Eyre.

Farina Ruins
Worth a couple of hours to walk around and see the renovations that have been built by the volunteers

View the spectacular colours of the ochre

Old Beltana
Historic Buildings and cemetery.

Sliding Rock
Visit an old mine from 1870's. Warraweena Old Coach Road.
